Oppenhoff strengthens Frankfurt office with financial law expert Wolfgang Kotzur
Oppenhoff has gained the financial law expert Dr. Wolfgang Kotzur for the expansion of its banking and capital markets law practice. He is joining as a partner from Simmons & Simmons and previously worked for ten years as a solicitor for two large international law firms in London as well as for three years in Frankfurt. He has extensive expertise in advising borrowers and lenders on debt financing transactions and reorganizations pursuant to German and English law. At Oppenhoff, he will be strengthening the team comprising Dr. Gabriele Fontane (private equity, acquisition financing), Dr. Peter Etzbach and Dr. Günter Seulen (stock corporation law, banking supervisory law, (equity) financing issues, capital markets law) as of 1 June.

Dr. Wolfgang Kotzur predominantly advises on senior and mezzanine real estate financing, corporate financing, acquisition financing and restructuring. In addition, he has extensive experience in advising on transactions concerning debt and fund financing, such as capital call facilities. Most recently, he advised, inter alia, a major cable manufacturer on a syndicated loan facility, a real estate investor on various acquisition financings and the financing banks on an electronic supply chain financing structure with English law and German receivables.
Wolfgang Kotzur studied law at the University of Durham, the College of Law in Guildford and the University of Giessen (Dr. iur.). He is admitted as a lawyer in Germany and as a solicitor in England and Wales.
