Oppenhoff & Partner restructures management

Oppenhoff & Partner has restructured its management as of 1 January 2020: a new Executive Board (EB) unites the previous Board of Partners and Management Committee.

In its first Board, the partnership has elected Dr Gilbert Wurth as its spokesman as well as Myriam Schilling and Dr Harald Gesell. A further member is Chief Operating Officer Jörg Overbeck, who is responsible for Business Services, among other things.

Gilbert Wurth, who was confirmed as the firm's spokesman, commented: "The unified Board allows us to link strategic issues and day-to-day business smoothly and efficiently. The choice of board members ensures both continuity and fresh ideas, enabling us to shape the future of the firm together.”

Dr. Axel Bödefeld (Board of Partners) as well as Gert Dittert and Dr. Marc Hilber (Management Committee) are withdrawing from the existing committees. Dr Gilbert Wurth thanked the three part-ners for their great commitment over the past few years: "They and other partners will continue to support the management with their experience".

• Dr. Gilbert Wurth is a founding partner of the law firm Oppenhoff & Partner and has been its spokesman since 2017. The employment lawyer specialises in the reorganisation of en-terprises as well as advising on M&A transactions and transformations.
• Myriam Schilling has been a member of the Board of Partners since 2017. The corporate lawyer is specialised in advising German and foreign clients on national and cross-border M&A transactions and joint venture projects.
• Dr. Harald Gesell is a founding partner of the firm. He specialises in advising German and foreign enterprises on stock corporation and group law, in particular on transformation measures and on questions of group financing.
• Jörg Overbeck has been COO of the firm since August 2018. He previously held various management positions in other law firms.

In Germany, the law firm advises in all areas of commercial and tax law. Around 80 lawyers in its offices in Frankfurt, Hamburg and Cologne work for clients such as Deutsche Post, Siemens, Zürich, Trumpf, Saint-Gobain, Vaillant and Johnson & Johnson.
