Oppenhoff & Partner appoints Dr. Gabriele Fontane to expand its private equity practice

Oppenhoff & Partner has elected private equity specialist Dr. Gabriele Fontane (52) as a partner in the firm’s Frankfurt office. She is joining from Otto Mittag Fontane.

With Dr. Fontane, Oppenhoff is significantly advancing the expansion of its private equity offering for national and international clients. Gabriele Fontane’s additional expertise in acquisition financing will expand the firm’s offering in this area by Frankfurt partner Jérôme Friedrich and Cologne partner Dr. Peter Etzbach.

Dr. Stephan König, Head of the Corporate M&A practice group at Oppenhoff & Partner, commented: “With Gabriele Fontane we are gaining an extremely experienced partner who fits very well into our transaction practice and team in the private equity sector.”

Gabriele Fontane has been advising in the field of M&A/private equity and corporate law since 1994, focusing on MBO/LBO transactions, primarily for financial investors/private equity funds or participating managers, including acquisition financing. Amongst others she has advised Finatem on the acquisition of Schollenberger and on the sale of the TechnoPhysik Group as well as on various management participations of the financial investor Lindsay Goldberg. She also advised Shop Apotheke Europe NV in the acquisition of Farmaline.

She teaches private equity as a lecturer on the M&A study programme at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. Prior to establishing Otto Mittag Fontane she was a partner at a German commercial law firm for ten years.
