Oppenhoff & Partner advises Beta Systems Software on the acquisition of the HABEL / Akzentum Group
Oppenhoff & Partner advised Beta Systems Software AG on the acquisition of the HABEL / Akzentum Group via its subsidiary PROXESS Holding GmbH. The purchase price amounts to more than 10 million Euro.
Seller is the private equity investor Elvaston, which acquired the group in 2016 and expanded it in 2018 via the add-on acquisition of Akzentum GmbH. As part of the transaction, the management sellers reinvested parts of their shares, with Beta Systems Software AG now holding 85 percent of the shares in PROXESS Holding GmbH.
HABEL GmbH & Co. KG and Akzentum GmbH have been active in the field of document management systems for many years. Approx. 90 employees attend to around 2,600 customers and generated consolidated turnover of approx. 9.5 million Euro in 2018. The acquisition is effective as of 1 January 2019. The group will be managed as an independent company within the Beta Systems group. The acquisition will enable Beta Systems to significantly strengthen its product portfolio in the field of DCI (Data Centre Intelligence).
Beta Systems was founded in 1983, went public in 1997 and employs around 300 people. The company has its headquarters in Berlin. Beta Systems is active nationally and internationally with 18 group companies of its own and numerous partner enterprises. More than 1,300 customers worldwide with more than 3,200 installations in over 30 countries optimise their processes and improve their security with products and solutions originating from Beta Systems. The enterprise is one of the leading medium-sized and independent software providers in Europe.
Oppenhoff recently advised Beta Systems on the acquisition of all shares in LYNET Kommunikation AG at the end of 2017.
