Oppenhoff advises Sunovis on the sale of a 102 MWp solar park in Saxony-Anhalt
Oppenhoff has advised the German project developer Sunovis on the sale of a 102 MWp solar park in the district of Börde in Saxony-Anhalt. The buyer, the CEE Group, which specialises in renewable energies, is expanding its portfolio in the field of photovoltaics with this transaction.
Construction of the solar project began in September 2024, with its commissioning scheduled for April 2025. The solar park will supply enough energy to power around 47,500 households with green energy. Eighty percent of the energy generated will be sold under a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) that has already been concluded.
Sunovis, based in Singen, is a German project developer that has been successfully developing solar projects in Germany for over 10 years. The company specialises in the planning and implementation of solar parks and is thus making a significant contribution to the energy transition.
The Hamburg-based CEE Group is an asset manager specialising in renewable energies. With over 104 transactions and approx. 2.2 GW(p) total nominal output in the field of renewable energies and a portfolio of around 2.6 billion euros in “assets under management”, CEE is a very well-established player.
The Oppenhoff team led by Till Liebau (M&A) and Dr. Carmen Schneider (Energy) comprised Lisa Zimmermann (M&A), Marvin Rochner, Dr. Ann Margret Herzhoff and Julia Höyng (all Real Estate).
Oppenhoff has been regularly advising Sunovis for years and also advised the former shareholders and current managing directors 2021/22 on the sale of the company to Brookfield.
The Energy and Infrastructure sector group at Oppenhoff advises domestic and foreign energy suppliers, trading houses, grid operators, municipalities, investors, energy service providers, project companies and energy-intensive industry at all stages of the value chain in the energy sector. Most recently, the sector group advised GASCADE on a strategically important transaction for energy security in Germany, a leading project planner and operator of PV systems on its market entry in Germany and the partner of a joint venture on the expansion of a large Power-to-X project in Chile.
