Oppenhoff advises shareholders of specialised insurance broker AutoProtect GmbH on sale
Oppenhoff has successfully advised the managing shareholders of AutoProtect GmbH, a leading specialised insurance broker in the automotive trade, on the sale of their company. AutoProtect GmbH will become part of Leading Brokers United, the broker segment of the GGW Group. The managing shareholders of AutoProtect, Lars Schilke and Timo Grundke, will remain in their respective roles in the company management.
AutoProtect GmbH was founded in 2017 and has since established itself as the market leader for automotive insurance in Germany. Based in Celle, AutoProtect offers customised insurance solutions for vehicle manufacturers, dealer associations and car dealerships.
The Oppenhoff team, led by Dr. Markus Rasner, comprised Moritz Schmitz, Dr. Gabriele Fontane (all private equity), Anja Dombrowsky, Lisa Striegler (both employment), Dr. Gunnar Knorr (tax), Georg Lecheler, Dr. Patric Mau (both IP) and Thomas Wismann (insurance).
Oppenhoff has been actively involved in the consolidation of the German brokerage market for many years, most recently in the sale of Advenius to the Attikon Group, the entry of TA Associates into MRH Trowe and the acquisition of Lurse AG by the MRH Trowe Group. Oppenhoff's leading insurance practice also regularly advises on transactions in the insurance sector, most recently on the VHV Group's acquisition of the InterEurope Group and the acquisition of the Eucon Group.
