Oppenhoff advises SDC Technologies on the acquisition of COTEC

Oppenhoff has advised SDC Technologies, Inc., USA, on the acquisition of COTEC GmbH, located in Karlstein near Frankfurt, from its founder.

COTEC® is a leading producer of thin-film coating solutions for numerous diverse usages, including inter alia high-precision optics, display technologies, and applications in the automotive industry.

California-based SDC Technologies, a subsidiary of Japanese Mitsui Chemicals group, is a global market-leading producer of premium abrasion, scratch, and chemical resistant coatings for plastics, glass, and metal substrates.

The Oppenhoff team, headed by Till Liebau (M&A/co-head US desk), comprised Marcel Markovic, Moritz Schmitz (both corporate/M&A), Anja Dombrowsky, Cornelia-Cristina Scupra (both employment), Georg Lecheler (IP), Marc Häger, Marvin Rochner (both real estate), Dr. Simon Spangler (antitrust and state aid), Holger Hofmann and Mareike Heesing (both public law).
