Oppenhoff advises KNDS Group on implementation of its new uniform corporate identity

After having advised on the founding of the KMW & Nexter Defence Systems group in 2015, the Oppenhoff team led by Michael Abels has now accompanied another important step in the history of the group:

KNDS, a leading European manufacturer of military land systems based in Amsterdam, has renamed its parent company and group companies around Krauss-Maffei Wegmann GmbH & Co. KG and Nexter Systems S. A. and introduced a new, standardised brand identity (rebranding). "KNDS" as part of the company and brand names now characterises the Group's uniform corporate identity.

As part of this rebranding and renaming, the names of the subsidiaries in Germany, France, Italy, Greece, Belgium, the UK, Hungary, Singapore, the USA and Brazil, among others, were also legally amended.

The Oppenhoff team led by Michael Abels (IT Law, Data Protection / Aerospace & Defence) comprised Stephan Müller, Mareike Heesing (both Public Law, Compliance), Marc Krischer, Gunnar Knorr (both tax), Georg Lecheler (IP), Dr Günter Seulen, Sebastian Gutmann (both, Corporate/M&A) and Dr Alexander Willemsen (Employment). Via the Oppenhoff network, the team coordinated legal advice in all jurisdictions in which KNDS companies or their suppliers are based.

In light of the current political situation, it was a top priority for KNDS not to jeopardise its business operations and supply chains as a result of the name changes. KNDS and Oppenhoff are therefore particularly pleased that KNDS was able to maintain all supply chains as part of the reorganisations and that delivery obligations were not delayed as a result.
