Oppenhoff advises Horn & Co. Group on the establishment of a European recycling platform

Oppenhoff has advised the Horn & Co. Group on the merger of its European recycling activities with RHI Magnesita. By merging their production, both companies will increase the use and supply of secondary raw materials for the European refractories industry. By bundling competences, CO2 emissions can be significantly reduced. The newly created joint venture will operate under the name Horn & Co. RHIM Minerals Recovery GmbH.

The Horn & Co. Group has been active as a recycling company since 1922 and works in the fields of processing, disposal, analysis and product distribution. As a network consisting of the four business units Industrial Services, Minerals Recovery, Products and Analytics, it pursues the goal of realising a closed material cycle within the framework of raw material recycling.

RHI Magnesita is an international supplier of high-grade refractory products, systems and services, which are used for industrial high-temperature processes above 1,200 degrees Celcius in the steel, cement, nonferrous metals and glass industries, among others.
