Oppenhoff advises Hawesko on the sale of Ziegler
Oppenhoff has advised listed Hawesko group on the sale of Gebrüder Josef und Matthäus Ziegler GmbH to private investors. Hawesko will remain Ziegler's exclusive distribution partner.
Ziegler, based in Freudenberg am Main, has been a leading manufacturer of high-quality fruit and other spirits since 1865 and has long been a supplier to top fine dining locations.
Hawesko Holding AG, which is listed on the stock exchanges in Hamburg and Frankfurt, is Germany's largest trading house for high-quality wines and champagnes and one of the most important wine suppliers in the world. With brands such as Jacques' Wein-Depot, HAWESKO and Vinos, it is one of the market leaders both in wholesale and retail and in e-commerce in the DACH region. Ziegler GmbH, previously held by group company Wein Service Bonn, was the only manufacturing unit within Hawesko group.
The Oppenhoff team led by Till Liebau included Lisa Schmitt (both M&A / corporate), Dr Simon Spangler (distribution and antitrust), Anja Dombrowsky (employment) and Dr Gunnar Knorr (tax).
The sector group Retail and Consumer Goods at Oppenhoff regularly advises clients from the Food & Beverage sectors, most recently for example Edeka Südwest.
