New partner for Frankfurt: Oppenhoff strengthens its tax practice with Jan Mohrmann
Oppenhoff is recruiting Jan Mohrmann as a new partner for the Frankfurt office. He is transferring from ADVANT Beiten on 1 April 2022.
Jan Mohrmann comprehensively advises companies and high-net-worth individuals on tax law. His focus is M&A, private equity and real estate transactions as well as succession and wealth matters. The 43-year-old is a lawyer and tax advisor.
The firm’s chairwoman, Myriam Baars-Schilling, commented: “We are delighted about the further dynamic growth of our Frankfurt office with Jan Mohrmann. He will be joining our successful tax law team to focus on transactions and advice to high-net-worth individuals and will be cooperating closely with our corporate lawyers in Cologne and Frankfurt in particular.”
Jan Mohrmann: “I am very much looking forward to becoming a part of Oppenhoff and strengthening its excellent tax law team. The close collaboration between the offices and beyond the boundaries of the practice groups impressed me – as did the transaction work and private clients sector. Together, we can provide exceptional advice.”
Jan Mohrmann studied law at the Universities of Hanover and Münster as well as finances at the Poly-technic for Administration and the Administration of Justice in Rinteln. He was appointed a tax advisor in 2013.
Oppenhoff’s 6-member tax law team advises on all tax law matters concerning day-to-day business affairs and in special business activities such as M&A transactions and restructurings. It represents German and international clients in disputes with the fiscal authorities in tax audits, in the run-up to court proceedings and before the fiscal courts.
The 7-member succession/wealth/foundations team advises entrepreneurs, owner families and high-net-worth individuals on structuring and securing succession in their companies or regarding their assets, also in consideration of cross-border aspects. This also includes advising founders and foundations with family or charitable objectives. Oppenhoff was named Law Firm of the Year for succession/wealth/foundations at the JUVE Awards 2021.
Jan Mohrmann’s recruitment is a further expansion of the Frankfurt office. Most recently, the lawyer-notary Hans-Joachim Otto joined Oppenhoff.
