Last call: registration deadline for the Lobby Register ends
The Lobby Register has been live for more than seven weeks. About 800 registrations have been made since then. Have you registered? The registration deadline is 28 February 2022.
The German Lobby Register Act [Lobbyregistergesetz - LobbyRG] requires all lobbyists vis-à-vis the Bundestag and the German government to register with the Lobby Register. For more information, see our Newsflash on the Lobby Register. Registrations must be made by 28 February 2022. Anyone who engages in lobbying from 1 March 2022 onwards must be registered in the Lobby Registry. Failure to register in good time can be punished as an administrative offence with a fine of up to 50,000 euros in case of intent and up to 20,000 euros in case of negligence.
Please note that the clearance process takes several days: The registration has to be confirmed by the lobbyist’s signature. Finally, a clearance code must be entered, which will be sent by letter post once the clearance process has been activated.
Whether this affects you and what information needs to be provided can be found in our Newsletter on the Lobby Register. There, we answer all important questions about the Lobby Register.
The registry office at the German Bundestag has published further instructions on the registration process.
If you would like to be kept up-to-date on the development of the Lobby Register, you can also subscribe to the Newsletter of the German Bundestag (in German language only).
