Fresh breeze: Oppenhoff & Partner opens Hamburg office with leading procurement law expert
The independent German commercial law firm Oppenhoff & Partner is opening its third office in Germany. By gaining Professor Dr. Heiko Höfler, a leading expert in public law/regulatory matters, and his team, the law firm is creating optimum conditions for successfully continuing its 110- year tradition of providing enterprises and entrepreneurs with personal, comprehensive legal advice from its presence in Northern Germany.
The new Hamburg team will expand the firm’s leading expertise in numerous fields of law. Together with Stephan Müller, a prominent expert in foreign trade law, and with the strong aerospace and defence practice led by Michael Abels and Dr. Marc Hilber, Oppenhoff is creating a unique combination of legal and branch-specific knowhow.
In addition to Heiko Höfler and his team, which includes Dr. Robert Glawe, an acknowledged expert in the defence sector, the new office will be set up by Dr. Harald Gesell and Dr. Axel Wenzel, whose focus on family-run enterprises, respectively succession issues, and by Michael Abels, who has his roots in the Hanseatic city, making the firm’s full-service advice even more accessible to the Hamburg market.
Gilbert Wurth, spokesman for Oppenhoff, commented: “With the opening of our office in Hamburg we are taking a further decisive step: growing with the best! I am particularly pleased that we have been able to gain Heiko Höfler and his team as successful colleagues for our new office, as their area of expertise is exceptionally well-suited to our firm.”
Prof. Dr. Heiko Höfler commented: “Enterprises and entrepreneurs in Northern Germany expect first-class advice in all areas of commercial law. A sustained advisory approach and the personal touch, as is uniquely offered by Oppenhoff & Partner, will convince our clients in Hamburg. I am absolutely delighted to become a partner of one of the most traditional German law firms and to collaborate at multiple locations and on an interdisciplinary basis with our colleagues in Cologne and Frankfurt.”
Oppenhoff & Partner currently has around 70 lawyers at offices in Cologne and Frankfurt am Main offering legal advice on all important areas of commercial and tax law, such as employment law, banking and capital markets law, state aid and antitrust law, compliance, corporate law/M&A, intellectual property law, real estate law, IT law and data protection, export control, litigation and tax law.
