Dr. Markus Rasner appointed Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Singapore in Frankfurt

Frankfurt am Main, 12 December 2024: Partner Dr. Markus Rasner has been appointed Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Singapore in Frankfurt am Main.

The appointment by the Government of the Republic of Singapore was made in agreement with the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany and Rasner’s areas of jurisdiction are the federal states of Hesse, Baden-Württemberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland.

50-year-old Dr. Markus Rasner has been Honorary Consul of the Republic of Singapore since 2000. As Honorary Consul General, Dr. Markus Rasner will continue to perform representative and notarial functions as well as provide consular assistance to Singaporean citizens. His appointment as Honorary Consul General in Frankfurt strengthens the bilateral relations between the Republic of Singapore and Germany and will further promote the deep and long-standing ties between the two countries.

Dr. Markus Rasner was admitted to the bar in 2003. As a member of the Corporate/M&A practice group, he is responsible for the private equity sector at Oppenhoff and heads the ASEAN and China desks. Since the beginning of his professional career, he has been advising companies and financial investors from Asia and elsewhere on their investments in Germany. He spent part of his professional career in Singapore and has in-depth knowledge of the region. Dr. Rasner has been an active member of the German Asia-Pacific Business Association (OAV) for many years and is a member of the board.
