Further growth in Frankfurt: lawyer and notary Hans-Joachim Otto joins Oppenhoff
Oppenhoff is strengthening its ranks with lawyer and notary Dr. h.c. Hans-Joachim Otto. Otto’s focus is the provision of legal advice on real estate and estate agency law in particular, as well as the notarisation of real estate transactions. Hans-Joachim Otto has joined Oppenhoff’s Frankfurt office on 1 October 2021.
Hans-Joachim Otto was actively engaged in politics for a considerable time, amongst other things as state secretary at the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and coordinator of the Federal Government’s maritime policy. For many years, he was a member of the German Bundestag in the FDP party and most recently was a lawyer and notary at GSK Stockmann.
Myriam Baars-Schilling, Oppenhoff’s chairwoman: “With Hans-Joachim Otto, we are further strengthening our real estate team and existing notarial practice comprising Anne Vins-Niethammer and Rainer Jacob – and acquiring a very well networked colleague.“
Hans-Joachim Otto: “I am delighted to be able to continue my work at Oppenhoff and to join the existing team to establish a strong notarial practice. With Oppenhoff, my consultancy mandates will encounter a dynamic law firm with comprehensive full-service expertise.”
With the acquisition of Otto, Oppenhoff is continuing its constant expansion at its Frankfurt office. Following the two notaries Rainer Jacob and Anne Vins-Niethammer, the firm most recently acquired at partner level Michael Weigel for its litigation and arbitration practice as well as Dr. Gregor Seikel to further expand its corporate real estate and private clients sectors and Wolfgang Kotzur for banking and capital markets law. The Frankfurt office now boasts 22 lawyers.
