Hans Jürgen Prinz has been Of Counsel at Oppenhoff since May 2008. In 1967 he began his career as a lawyer at Boden Oppenhoff & Schneider (later to become Oppenhoff & Rädler and Linklaters LLP), completed a secondment at DuMont Schauberg and was made partner in 1971. He studied law at the Universities of Munich and Cologne.
Hans Jürgen Prinz is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (Deutsche Vereinigung für Gewerblichen Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht – GRUR), the German Institution of Arbitration (Deutsche Institution für Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit - DIS) and the Study Group for Press Law and Freedom of the Press (Studienkreis Presserecht und Pressefreiheit e.V.). From 1972 to 2010 he was a member of the German Committee for UNICEF and was its deputy chairman for almost two decades.
