Hanno is a founding partner of Oppenhoff. He was a partner at Oppenhoff & Rädler/Linklaters LLP from 1978 to 2007. He studied law at the Universities of Cologne, Lausanne (Dr. iur. Soutenance de Thèse) and Bonn. Prior to commencing his career in Germany he worked for the law firm Bussy, Rusconi & Partners in Lausanne.
Experience
Hanno Goltz specialises in mergers and acquisitions, advising and representing domestic and foreign companies on the sale and purchase of companies and businesses and on the legal structures for cooperations between companies in Germany and abroad. He is also experienced within the insurance sector, including M&A transactions, the establishment of new insurance companies, insurance supervision law, the restructuring and development of new insurance products as well as within the security industry. He represents leading international insurance and reinsurance groups in major disputes before the courts and arbitration tribunals.
His excellent services in the insurance industry have earned him international recognition, amongst other things through his inclusion in the Guide to the World’s Leading Insurance and Reinsurance Lawyers published by the Legal Media Group and nomination as the leading expert in national and international registers such as the JUVE Handbook, Legal 500 or Who’s Who Legal Germany. The US-American publishing company Best Lawyers voted him to be one of the best lawyers in Germany for Insurance Law. He is a member of German insurance law associations and he has frequently given lectures and participated in international studies and publications within the scope of the IBA Insurance Committee.
